The history of the firm known today as 'Alliotts' can trace its' roots back to London in 1869 when a man named 'Pullam Markham Evans' rented an office in the City. To announce himself to the businesses in the area he sent out, what can best be described as a very early form of a direct marketing letter.
1869 – Pullam Markham Evans rents offices in the City at 2, Gresham Buildings
1871 – John Peirson joins the firm and it is renamed ‘Evans, Peirson & Co’
1890 – Herbert William Alliott starts in the same building
1895 – Herbert William Alliott and George Gain become known as ‘Alliott, Gain & Co’
1930 – ‘Alliott, Gain & Co’, and Edward Makepeace become known as ‘Alliott Makepeace’
1957 – Alliott, Makepeace – 73, Basinghall Street
1965 – ‘Alliott Makepeace’ becomes ‘Alliott Vernon Smith & Co’
1971 – ‘Alliott Vernon Smith & Co’ and ‘Evans, Peirson & Co’ become ‘Alliott Peirson’
1976 – ‘Alliott Peirson Associates’ formed
1979 - ‘Alliott Peirson International’ formed
1987 – ‘Alliott Peirson’ becomes ‘Alliott Bullimore’
1990 – ‘Alliott Bullimore becomes Alliotts
1990 – ‘Alliott Peirson International’ becomes ‘Alliott Group’
2020 - Alliotts becomes Alliotts LLP
2020 - Alliott Group rebrands as Alliott Global Alliance
