We were delighted to attend an event featuring presentations by Daisy Ip (Head of investment Promotions, InvestHK London), Doris Fong (Head of Creative Industries, InvestHK), Justin Bonnett (British Chamber Hong Kong).
As the sun rose over London, casting a golden glow across the iconic skyline, there was a sense of anticipation in the air. The city buzzed with energy as I made my way to an event that promised both inspiration and new connections. Upon arrival, I joined Jason Keung from our audit team for a plentiful breakfast provided by the hosts. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee and delicious pastries filled the room, creating an inviting atmosphere that set the stage for the engaging discussions that followed.
On 15 October 2024, we were excited to participate in a gathering featuring presentations by Daisy Ip (Head of investment Promotions, InvestHK London), Doris Fong (Head of Creative Industries, InvestHK), Justin Bonnett (British Chamber Hong Kong) amongst others. The event was conducted online for attendees in Hong Kong while taking place live in the UK, allowing for a seamless exchange of ideas across time zones.
Doris Fong delivered a presentation on how global financial hubs in Hong Kong offer unique opportunities for investors, highlighting the region’s vibrant startup ecosystem and its strategic role in the Asia-Pacific market. Both Hong Kong and the UK boast strategic locations, robust legal frameworks, and vibrant economies, marking them attractive destinations for capital investment.
Justin Bonnett presented London as one of the world’s foremost financial centres, illustrating how the city’s diverse economy encompassing finance, manufacturing, technology, and creative industries, creates fertile ground for innovative ventures. The UK benefits from a strong legal framework, a skilled workforce, and a culture of innovation that inspires collaboration across sectors.
Both Hong Kong and the UK present compelling opportunities for investors eager to tap into dynamic markets. Hong Kong serves as a strategic gateway to Asia with its flourishing financial sector, while the UK offers a diversified economy ripe with potential for ground breaking ideas and strong return on investment.
